While the below picks are junk foods and unhealthy options to begin with, we were still disappointed to find out these items we all loved and overindulged in as kids were not actually food. Check it out:

Oreos

So, you know that tasty “cream” in between the two chocolate oreo cookies that make one nice big treat? Well, it’s not cream. It’s actually a combination of unbleached enriched flour (with iron, niacin, thiamine mononitrate), sugar, canola oil, cocoa (processed with alkali), high fructose corn syrup, baking soda, cornstarch, salt, soy lecithin and an artificial chocolate flavor. That’s a lot, as we’d like to think the little rounds of joy just fell out of trees.

Cool Whip

Cool Whip does contain a little skim milk, water and light cream, but it’s infused with hydrogenated veggie oil, sodium caseinate, artificial flavor, guar gums, sorbitan monostearate and some other things we can’t pronounce.

Bacon Bits

Bacon bits don’t even taste the same adults. The little pieces of imitation bacon are made up of textured soy flour, canola oil, maltodextrin, artificial flavor, salt, textured soy flour, yeast extract and a few other things. But any meat? Nope!
