Consisting of married couple Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon, R&B; duo Kindred the Family Soul first emerged from the turn-of-the-century Philadelphia.

Their debut record, Surrender to Love released in 2003 and featured the tracks “Stars” and “Far Away.”

The album earned the duo a nomination for a Soul Train Music Award in 2004.

After releasing 2008’s The Arrival on Hidden Beach, Kindred jumped ship to Shanachie, where the duo released their latest album, Love Has No Recession (2011).

Continuing the pair’s autobiographical theme, the project reflects the themes filling the lives of many Americans at the end of the last decade.
