Flo-Rida Backs Out of Miss USA Pageant

Rapper Flo-Rida told TMZ he would not be performing at the upcoming Miss USA pageant anymore. He did not give any specific reasons as to why he would not be taking the stage. Some think it could be because of the comments Donald Trump, co-owner of the pageant, made about Mexicans and immigrants. Others say it could be a money situation since NBC will not be airing the pageant anymore. Both possibilities are just speculation though since Flo has not given a reason why.

Luther Vandross: 10 Years Since His Passing

Ten years ago today the music world lost a legend. The infamous Luther Vandross died July 1^st, 2005 of a heart attack at the age of 54. Vandross beautiful falsetto and lyrics of love captivated listeners of all ages. Songs like “Never Too Much” and “Dance with My Father” are some of our favorites here at Radio 103.9 NY. RIP Luther Vandross, an angel in the R&B game.

Big Sean plays the role of Martin Payne, a Tisha Campbell-Martin lookalike plays the role of Gina, and Chris Brown plays Cole. The video mixes creativity and nostalgia making it a serious consideration for the video of the year. Lately, the rapper has been dropping videos weekly and it’s paying off for sure. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has announced that the artist has over 100 million gold and platinum song certifications making her number one on RIAA’s list of artists with the most digital single awards AND making her the first artist to exceed RIAA’s 100 million cumulative singles award threshold.
